Gladys Frankel Ph.D

Growing up, people often came to me for assistance with their problems so it was a natural progression to become a psychologist.

I am a highly experienced clinical psychologist who has been on the faculties of Dartmouth and Cornell Medical schools. I work with adults, adolescents, families and couples treating diverse challenges such as parent coordination, divorce, relationship issues, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, stress management/resiliency, self-esteem, human potential, peak performance and brain fitness.

I feel that a safe, supportive experience enables each individual to develop their potential. I work collaboratively to create an individually tailored approach. I am expertly trained to utilize CBT, DBT, psychodynamic and mindfulness techniques uniquely crafted for each client. My expertise addresses depression, anxiety, relationship issues, stress/resiliency, parenting/divorce issues and eating disorders.

I trained at Columbia and have taught for years at Cornell and Dartmouth. I sensitively address the challenges people face, enabling more satisfying, balanced and meaningful lives. I am a frequently requested presenter at local and national conferences on PTSD and eating disorders. I have published in peer reviewed journals, participated in multiple editorial boards and provide expert legal testimony. My breadth of knowledge and experience has shaped the way that I treat patients and their families.
